Star Sp500 Driver

Star tsp700 driver windows 10

I use Windows XP Operating System, have a retail software call AccuPOS and have a cash drawer, display system for customer, Symbol Code Scanner and use Peachtree Accounting. Does anyone know why my Star SP500 receipt printer doesn't want to print the receipts?

I have installed the correct driver for the peripheral cause it works properly when I press 'print a test page' and have configured it in AccuPOS too, because I also printed a test page, but when I make a sale in AccuPOS retail, the receipt printer does not work. Your answer puzzles me, 'Well it's connected to the PC by serial port, LPT1', it has to be either serial or LPT1(same as parallel).

It can't be both unless its a unique and You don't want that direction for sure. If LPT1, then all configurations must reflect that, thus output goes to LPT1. Also, under the XP setup be sure it actually states the driver for SP500 as device printer. Otherwise, use the 'generic' driver and for basic output to a receipt should work, its not going to be printing fancy graphics, right or logos?

The following files are found inside the driver download file. Home › POS Hardware, Supplies, & Equipment › Receipt Printer › Star SP500 › Star SP500 Driver. Star SP500 Driver. Download drivers for the Star SP500 Receipt Printer: linemode_2k-xp_20050628.exe Star SP500 Supplies. Star SP500 Receipt Ribbon. SP500 series. Highly Sophisticated, Entry-Level Receipt Printer. Peripheral Driver: 2 circuits, for driving solenoids etc. (24V max., 1A). Star Micronics.

Also, under self-test it is already hooked-up for printing by that cable, correct? In other words, NOT the self-test is being done at the printer itself(it own commands, sequence of buttons, etc.).

Tada -----Willy. Under XP printer setup, find add printer, select local as LPT1, then from the list, verify if SP500 is present(if you installed the driver correctly), accept it and save if necessary upon exit out. Verify, under the printer listing page, that SP500 is the 'default', a check mark is next to it.

If that corrects the problem, OK, If not, then repeat steps above EXCEPT find 'GENERIC' as the brand. Repeat all steps to accept that.

You may need to play with it. I have used the generic driver quite well in testing POS printers and it should work.

Make sure you have a bi-directional parallel cable, it should have printed on the cable, IE1248 somewhere as new cable sold today is that. Tada -----Willy. Finally after much trial and error I downloaded a driver that worked.

Now I have another question: When I print the receipt from my POS program, the receipt prints out of margin to the right and the item price only prints the dollar places, but not the decimals. I have two different printers; Star SP500 and Bixolon SRP 275, both have the same problem and both are installed correctly. The only thing they have in common is the AccuPOS Retail program. I tried configuring in the AccuPOS Management, but I can?t find an option where I could change the margins. You mentioned, you found a driver that works, well I hope it was proper as in the 'whole setup'.

Its defaults maybe causing your margin to be askew. You can check under the printer 'properties' and reset the values for margins and be sure if the AccPos s/w is using 'inches or mm' as it setup. That way, you won't go awry when configuring, provided it allows such. Also, since, I don't have AccPos here, that for all these problems. IMHO, it supposed to be a simple setup, practically a 'drop-in' setup. There maybe some outside factor causing an issue.

Have you tried installing like on a laptop or other PC and check results? Tada -----Willy. Centrino advanced n wimax 6250 drivers.
